Profile

Rich Stephens practices family law with an emphasis on equitable distribution and support matters. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and has been repeatedly recognized by Business North Carolina magazine as one of the Legal Elite‡ in North Carolina, most recently in January 2009. Rich is listed in Best Lawyers* (2009) as well as in North Carolina Super Lawyers† Top 100 (2009). He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Rich appears before the District Court bench in Mecklenburg County and also travels to other counties as needed. Rich is experienced in representing clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and in trials. Additionally, Rich is a frequent speaker at Family Law programs throughout the state and delivers the lecture on “Separation Agreements” during the North Carolina Bar Association’s biennial “Basics of Family Law” seminar.
