Profile

George N. Miller focuses his practice in immigration and nationality law, criminal defense and traffic cases. He practices in the North Carolina District and Superior Courts, the United States District Court, the Executive Office for Immigration Review (immigration court) and the Board of Immigration Appeals. He regularly appears before the Department of Homeland Security United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and Department of Homeland Security Immigration Customs and Enforcement. George also practices before the United States Department of State, United States Department of Justice and United States Department of Labor.

George represents people and businesses from around the world. His practice includes the representation of clients with many needs including family based petitions, employment based petitions (both immigrant and nonimmigrant), transfer and/or hiring of foreign nationals in multinational corporations, applications for naturalization (citizenship), removal/deportation defense, as well as applications for many other visa categories. George also assists companies in their efforts to protect and defend themselves against any possible sanctions for employees without valid employment authorization.

George is recognized as a Board Certified Specialist by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization and served on the State Bar’s original Immigration Specialization Committee. George has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1987 and has also served on the North Carolina Bar Association’s Committee on Immigration and Nationality Law, as chair of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Immigration Section and also has been an active member of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Finance, Publications and Continuing Legal Education Sections. He also served on the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Executive Committee. George has taught many seminars and continuing education classes for national, state and local professional legal audiences, private businesses, employers, civic organizations, faith based organizations, federal and state public defender offices, as well as individuals.
